A material research project exploring steam as a colouring technique for wood using natural pigments, fabric, and wax-resist.
The process is inspired by Furoshiki, a Japanese wrapping technique traditionally used to wrap and carry objects. Here, wrapping becomes part of the making process, controlling how colour transfers onto the wood.
